Extended OntoWeb Portal - RC1

The extended version of the OntoWeb portal has been published. After a short testing phase the portal will go online as main OntoWeb portal. Several enhancements and improvements has been realized.

Important Content Changes:
--------------------------

1) We transformed all static content from the old portal into dynamic generated content. This affects mainly participants and deliverables.
2) Clarified usage of the terms 'Member' and 'Participant'.
3) Deleiverables are now Publications (now dynamically generated from the DB)
4) SIG's are now Organisations (now dynamically generated from the DB)
5) Participants are now Oragnisations (now dynamically generated from the DB)
6) Users can upload / download their own BibTex Files (!)
7) We integrated the content types of the Edu and the Roadmap Portal which now can be used here.
8) and lot more ... (please check the deliverable for details)

Important Server Side Changes:
------------------------------

We have developed a specific OntoWeb Portal Architecture:
1) We are using now a client-server architecture with a central knowledge repository and n-clients. Each client is a single ZOPE Server and acts as a own portal. However, the content is stored in the central repository!
2) Can use load-balacing for high-traffic phases.
3) Using Backup and Mirror Server.
4) Running a Watchdog Server which controls the uptime of all servers in the OntoWeb Architecture.
5) Running a Bug Tracking and Feature Request System

Content Integration Mechanism:
------------------------------

Export:
Managers can enable content syndication for specific folders. These folders are producing RDF/RSS, dynamically. These files can then be importet in the other portals.

Import:
We currently finishing the development of an OntoWeb Portal Client which connects to the central repository. The client gets a RDF File as input and generates content instances in the portal.
